Sixth grader killed in Narayanganj road accident

A sixth grade student was killed and a second person was injured after the truck struck a motorcycle in the Sonargaon the upazila of Narayanganj this morning.

The victim, Junayed Hossein (12) is the child of Yusub Ali was a student at Sonmandi Hasan Khan High School Our Narayanganj correspondent has reported, the report of Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sonargaon Police Station.

Its maternal grandfather Mohammad Nurnabi was injured in the incident and is receiving treatment in a local hospital, according to the OC.

Based on eyewitness accounts, OC Hafizur said Junayed was headed towards Adpur Bazar with his maternal uncle riding a motorbike.

"When the motorcycle reached Dulalpur area, a speeding truck hit the motorcycle from behind, leaving Junayed dead on the spot and injuring his uncle," said the OC.

The body was taken to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.

Police have also arrested the driver of the truck and taken the vehicle according to the OC added, noting that an investigation is ongoing in this matter.
